GTA 6 Release Date: November 19, 2026 — Confirmed, and Holding

After two delays and years of speculation, the GTA 6 release date is settled and — by every current signal — holding: Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The date, and how we got here

Rockstar’s road to November 19 had three stops:

  1. December 2023 — Trailer 1 announces a broad “2025” window.
  2. May 2, 2025 — first delay: the game moves to May 26, 2026.
  3. November 6, 2025 — second delay, announced on Rockstar Newswire: November 19, 2026. That’s the date on the box.

Why this one looks final

Delay anxiety is fair — Rockstar has slipped twice. But the signals around this date are qualitatively different:

  • Take-Two reaffirmed it at its May 2026 earnings update, with CEO Strauss Zelnick stating the game won’t be delayed again.
  • Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 with the date attached — publishers don’t take money against dates they expect to move.
  • Logistics are locked: digital preload and physical shipping both begin November 12, 2026, a week before launch.

A date that survives an earnings call and has pre-order money against it is as confirmed as release dates get.

The dates that matter now

  • November 12, 2026 — preload opens; physical (code-in-box) copies ship.
  • November 19, 2026 — launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • PC — still unannounced. Rockstar’s pattern says it follows consoles; nothing official yet.

What’s still open

The remaining known-unknowns: Trailer 3 (still unreleased as of early July 2026, with a rumored summer window), the online mode (Rockstar currently describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience), and PC timing. We track each and route you to the primary source the moment any of them turns official.
