Why fans expected one by now

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 with confirmed pricing and editions — a marketing beat that, on past Rockstar releases, has often lined up with fresh trailer footage. That didn’t happen this time. The pre-order announcement shipped on its own, without an accompanying video.

A pre-order push with no new trailer is unusual for Rockstar, but not unprecedented — it doesn’t by itself signal a delay.

What a third trailer would need to cover

Based on what’s still undetailed after two trailers:

1. Gameplay footage — both existing trailers are cinematic; neither has shown UI, mission structure, or systems in action.
2. The protagonist-switching mechanic — how playing as Lucia and Jason actually works.
3. Confirmation or denial of online-mode details, given Rockstar’s pre-order copy calls GTA 6 “a single-player experience.”
