GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on exactly two platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X and Series S
That’s it for day one — confirmed by Rockstar and reaffirmed when pre-orders opened.
Ruled out ❌
- PS4 and Xbox One — no. GTA 6 is built for current-gen hardware only. Rockstar skipped last-gen entirely, unlike GTA 5’s cross-gen launch.
- Mobile (iOS/Android) — no announcement, and nothing suggesting a launch-window mobile version.
Still open ❓
- PC — not announced. Based on Rockstar’s history with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, a PC version is likely to follow the console launch rather than arrive with it. Full reasoning in GTA 6 on PC.

Why current-gen only?
Rockstar’s move to skip PS4/Xbox One is a deliberate technical call. The crowd density, lighting and simulation shown in both trailers simply aren’t feasible on 2013-era hardware. Building for a single current-gen target lets Rockstar push the engine without compromising for weaker machines.
